  • Watergrasshill CFR “on call” Group – AED external heated cabinet

    Thanks to John O Connor, Community Association member, our AED heated cabinet is fully operational (the temp on it will rise over the next 12 hrs), meaning we can use this as a focal point to store our on call AED bag & accessories, this is a great addition to our volunteers who are on call weekly meaning when one goes off call they place the AED there for the next on call person to collect and so forth.…

  • Cork County Council Update – Main Street maintainance / Glenville Road junction

    Information received pertaining to the Glenville Junction in the village:

    The road marks are purely preliminary and for Cork County Council (CCC) observation (only) of traffic and truck (HGV) movements at the junction. No decision has being made by CCC on junction build out or parking spaces

    CCC are presently considering repairing existing damaged footpaths at the village centre and leaving all parking as is and constructing minor buildouts at the Glenville junction to improve sightlines at the junction.…

  • Mayor visits the new plaza

    Cork County Council brought Mayor Cllr. Gillian Coughlan to the site of the new plaza on Wednesday 23rd February 2022. The Mayor was very impressed with the work carried out and thanked all involved for their time and efforts.

  • Christmas Tree

    Our new plaza required a substantial Christmas Tree to set it off. The Planning & Development Action Group approached many local businesses for funding, and we were delighted with the generous response.

  • New Watergrasshill Plaza

    Watergrasshill’s new plaza nearing completion.

    Anyone in Watergrasshill over the last month will have seen the construction work in the centre of the village. One of the public consultation findings in December 2019 concluded that Watergrasshill no longer had a focal point due to new estates, built mainly at the southern end of the village.…
